Background

Dovedale Manor is a new group accommodation venue in Tissington, Ashbourne, on the Southeastern corner of the Peak District National Park set to open towards the end of 2021.

Comprising two properties, Dovedale Manor and The Coach House, it will sleep up to 40 and nine people respectively.

How We Helped

Holiday accommodation is a very competitive sector with many properties on the market in the Peak District, other national parks and across the country making it difficult to rank in Google and stand out from the crowd. How do you rank a website in such a competitive market for your target audience?

We built a nice looking, user-friendly website and created locally-targeted content to rank the website in Google for keywords a typical guest might search for. We noticed one of the independent competitors ranked well for ‘things to do’ or ‘activities’ in the Peak District and decided that would be a exactly the sort of content that might attract the right sort of guest. At the same time it sets the website out from the crowd – it’s not just another holiday property website of which there are thousands – and provides genuinely informative and helpful content.

The page in question comprises an interactive map of activities and a huge, easy to navigate list of 72 places to visit – it is much more useful as compared to the competitor’s page which is literally a wall of text and not user-friendly at all.

There is still a considerable amount of content to add including, of course, the online booking platform which will come in due course prior to opening the property for holiday makers.

Outcome

The site went live mid-February and at the end of the month we updated the page Peak District Activities. By mid-June the page was ranking on page #1 for its chosen keyword with a monthly search volume of 590 both on desktop and mobile. Considering this is a brand new website on a brand new domain the site has performed very well with regular enquiries already coming in.
