Personalised Toy Boxes

Background

Alpine Furniture Ltd. is a carpentry business nestled in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire, making bespoke furniture such as wooden beds, tables, cupboard and kitchens.

One of their best selling items are custom made children’s toy boxes which they typically sold on eBay. Wanting more control over marketing and to reduce commissions paid to third parties they decided to create a website specifically for this product.

How We Helped

The offer was potentially vast with infinite designs, boxes for both boys and girls, different sizes, options for engraved names and messages, extras such as locks and handles, and a wide range of Farrow and Ball colours which differed between the lid and box.

This produced a huge number of variations for each product so nailing down the options was critical from the start. We also created a design guide to assist customers in making the right choice.

Ensuring the site also loaded fast was important as this is a critical component for ranking well in Google.

We also chose a great domain name – personalisedtoyboxes.co.uk – which does exactly what it says on the box!

The website was built in WordPress with the the ever popular WooCommerce ecommerce solution.

Outcome

The site was launched in November 2020 and within a few months began to rank in Google’s top 10 (page #1) for critical keywords, notably ‘personalised toy box’ with a monthly search volume of almost 15,000 searches per month. Other top 10 keywords include, ‘custom toy chest’, ‘special toy box’, ‘rose toy box’ and the like.

Clearly, this has resulted in online sales for a wide range of their different toy boxes.
